Outlive is a youth suicide prevention program led by the Centre for Mental Health and Policy, Indian Law Society, in collaboration with Sangath and Quicksand Design Studio. The program works with young people aged 18–24 who have lived experience of suicide, self-harm, emotional distress, or mental health challenges to strengthen suicide prevention efforts across urban India.

Outlive is committed to creating a future where every young person feels heard, supported, and empowered to seek help without fear of stigma. By combining youth leadership, lived experience, and evidence-informed approaches, the program encourages open conversations about mental health while promoting compassion, awareness, and community action.

The initiative offers a range of programs designed to support young people and create lasting social impact. Outlive Chat provides a confidential, chat-based emotional support service where youth can connect with trained peer supporters in a safe and non-judgmental environment. The Youth Action for Suicide Prevention (YASP) Fellowship equips young leaders with the knowledge and skills to advocate for suicide prevention through policy, governance, and community engagement. Through Public Engagement Campaigns, Outlive raises awareness, reduces stigma, and empowers communities with practical suicide prevention resources.

Outlive believes that suicide prevention is a shared responsibility. By working alongside youth, educational institutions, communities, and mental health professionals, the program strives to build supportive environments where young people can access understanding, support, and hope.
